THE REHABILITATION CENTRE “GLI ANGELI DI PADRE PIO” IN THE WORLD HEALTH ÉLITE.
The only extra-hospital rehabilitation health facility in Italy to achieve international accreditation
Extraordinary result for our Presidium of Recovery and Functional Rehabilitation of the Friars Minor Capuchin of the Religious Province of Sant’Angelo and Padre Pio “The Angels of Padre Pio”, the excellence structure of the Padre Pio Onlus Rehabilitation Centers Foundation.
Now, among the many organizational, clinical and research results , it can afferm of being the first extra-hospital rehabilitation facility in Italy and among the few in the world, internationally accredited according to the standards of the Joint Commission International (JCI), certifying body, world leader .
In Italy 🇮🇹, with “Gli Angeli di Padre Pio” there are a total of 24 hospitals and extra-hospital structures, public and private and of any type of supply to be accredited by the JCI, and 600 worldwide, except of course the United States of America where JCI accreditation is common practice.
A process of adaptation that lasted for years with an intensification in the last 12 months of which 4 passed between audits and simulations by Progea, the exclusive Italian partner of the certification body JCI since 2001.
The result, of course, was communicated to all the most authoritative local, regional and national institutions, from the Mayor of the City (the fifth, from the extreme North of Italy downwards, to host a JCI accredited health facility on its territory), to the President , his Councilors and Councilors of the Puglia Region, to the President of the Council Giuseppe Conte , to his deputies and, obviously, to the Minister of Health Giulia Grillo.
But also to the Director of the Department of Regional Health, to the Director of ARES Puglia and to all General Managers, with particular reference to the DG of OO.RR. of Foggia Vitangelo Dattoli , who fully embracing the objective, with a view to a public-private synergy aimed at improving the quality of care, has made available to “Gli Angeli di Padre Pio”, one of the flagships of the public structure: two medical executives of considerable professional depth of their own Infectious Hospital Committee who supported that of the Foundation.
The President of the Authority, fr Francesco Colacelli , of the excellent result achieved, immediately informed all the institutional, national, regional and local levels and provided for a moment of public sharing to be held in the coming days to give visibility to such an important recognition.
Dr. Giacomo Francesco Forte, Director of the Strategic, Communication & Marketing Area of the Foundation, said: “JCI accreditation is the most effective and comprehensive tool to improve quality in healthcare. It is the process by which a health organization, upon voluntary request, is evaluated in order to establish adherence to standards of excellence designed to improve patient safety and the quality of health care. It is also the manifestation of a concrete commitment to improve the safety and quality of the assistance provided, to guarantee a safe healthcare environment and to work constantly to reduce the risks borne by clients and staff.
